What is a Professional Learning Community?
- Each community is a multidisciplinary group of 6- 8 faculty or staff engaging in a year-long program with a curriculum about enhancing teaching and learning.
- Seminars and activities provide learning, development, and fellowship.
- Participants develop & implement individual teaching projects.
- Financial support varies by community and may include travel and release time.
- Full-time faculty and staff positions are eligible.
What does a Learning Community do for me?
Remember the 3-R’s of the Teaching &Learning Center at SCCC:
- RECOGNIZING THE DESIRE TO ENHANCE TEACHING EXCELLENCE.
- REFLECTING ON IDEAS THROUGH COLLABORATION WITHIN YOUR COMMUNITY.
- REWARDING THROUGH IMPLEMENTATION
