About TRiO

TRiO is the umbrella for Student Support Services (SSS) that is offered nationwide at two and four year colleges. The purpose of SSS is to increase students' chances towards successful completion of their post-secondary education. The program is supported through a competitive grant process that is submitted to the United States Department of Education. Currently, we serve 160 students at SCCC/ATS.

Who is eligible for SSS?

Students who meet at least one of these requirements:

• Are first-generation college students
• Who plan to transfer and complete a bachelor’s degree
• Are undecided in a major
• Meet required federal income levels
• Are academically underprepared
• Have a documented physical or learning disability
