Admissions Procedures: Transfer Students

A student wanting to transfer from an accredited college/post-secondary institution is eligible for admission if the student is eligible to re-enter the institution last attended and meet the admission requirements of SCCC. Official transcripts from all previous institutions attended must be received and evaluated prior to being officially admitted and enrolled at SCCC. A Transcript Request document can be found here.

Students who have been placed on academic probation from another college/university or who have been dismissed based on academic performance must follow this procedure:

1. Provide written request for admission to SCCC with an explanation of circumstances regarding the academic difficulties; the written request should include a statement of academic goals and should be addressed to the Dean of Student Services.
2. Complete a Transcript Request.
3. Complete an Application for Admission.
4. Provide official transcripts from all prior colleges attended.
5. Take the COMPASS for course-placement purposes.
6. Limit SCCC enrollment to 12 credit hours or less per Fall/Spring Term or 6 credit hours or less per Summer Term.
7. Register with the Academic Achievement Center and attend a minimum of 10 clock hours of tutoring per semester.
8. Be placed on Academic Probation and maintain a 2.0 GPA to continue SCCC enrollment.

Note: It is the responsibility of the transferring student to inform the Admissions Office if he/she has previously been academically dismissed at any college. Failure to disclose such information or falsification of information requested may result in immediate dismissal from SCCC.
