Student Academic Progress (SAP)

Did you know that you have to meet SAP in order to keep receiving federal financial aid? At the end of the Spring'14 semester our office will be checking each students' SAP. Meeting SAP means that a student maintains a 67% completion rate (attempted classes divided by completed classes) and a cumulative 2.0 GPA. If one of these is not met, then a student will either be given a Warning semester to meet the requirements or be Suspended until the requirements are met. Our office will be mailing out letters to students not meeting SAP at the end of May. If you receive a letter and after reading it, you have any questions, please contact our office at 620-417-1110. To read more about Satisfactory Academic Progress go to the Financial Aid page on the SCCC/ATS website and click Policies and Disclosures.

You're not alone when it comes to student loans. SCCC/ATS has partnered with Inceptia, a division of National Student Loan Program (NSLP), to provide you with FREE assistance on your Federal student loan obligations to ensure successful, and comfortable, loan repayment. One of our goals in the Financial Aid Office is to help our students understand how to spend, save, and invest money wisely. We want to encourage everyone to look at a website that Inceptia has given us access to, called Financial Avenue. (See link at the bottom of the page) This website has financial literacy courses, articles, and videos to help students better understand how to manage their money. If you have not set up an account on Financial Avenue and have trouble doing so, please call Shannon at 620-417-1113.
