COSMETOLOGY INSTRUCTOR COURSE Seward County Community College offers a highly structured cosmetology instructor course which is dedicated to educating and training licensed cosmetologists to take the Kansas board of Cosmetology written exam required to become a licensed cosmetology instructor. Enrollees must hold a current Kansas cosmetology license. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES -- Seward County Community College Cosmetology Instructor curriculum covers three areas of study. Hair - learn the latest techniques of cutting, styling, perming, color and more. Nails - manicuring, pedicuring, acrylics, tips, wraps and gels. Skin - facials, make-up, waxing and skin care. A licensed cosmetologist may choose to explore some of these career opportunities:
DEGREE OPTIONS -- Cosmetology is a 1,500 clock-hour (11 months) program that combines classroom and clinical instruction to train students in technical cosmetology skills, professional services and business and job-related skills. A student may earn a vocational certificate of completion or an Associate of Applied Science Degree with 19 additional credit hours. ADVISING -- The cosmetology department instructors will advise and help with your course of study for the completion of a certificate or degree program.
