Seward County Community College/Area  Technical School was established in Liberal, Kansas, on Dec. 29, 1967 with  classes officially starting on Sept. 2, 1969. Since beginning in 1969 with 331  students, SCCC/ATS has grown to an annual headcount of over 2,670 students enrolled  in over 38,395 credit hours for the 2011-12 school year. The largest graduating  class in college history occurred in 2011 with over 380 students receiving a degree or certificate.
